Congratulations to 12 Skaters who represented WO at the BMO Skate Canada Championships in Moncton, NB, January 16-22, 2012. Congratulations to Tessa & Scott - Canadian Senior Dance Champions. They will be representing Canada at ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, Colorado Springs, USAi, February 7-12 and the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Nice, France, March 26-Apr 1, 2012.
Congratulations to 16 skaters who represented our Section at the BMO Skate Canada Junior National Championships in Moncton, NB, January 16-22, 2012. Congratulations Katherine Bobak and Ian Beharry - the new Junior Pair Champions of Canada! What an exciting year it's been for this pair team after winning a silver medal at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final in December!

Photos with special thanks to Stephan Potopnyk/Skate Canada (#1&2) and David Carmichael (#3) What a huge accomplishment for our world-class athletes to have qualified for the ISU Grand Prix Finals!! Tessa and Scott won gold at both Skate Canada International and Trophée Eric Bompard, and Kaitlyn and Andrew won silver at Skate Canada International and silver at the Rostelecom Cup in order to qualify. Andrew is from the KWSC, but represent Northern Ontario Section. In the junior category, Katherine and Ian qualified for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final with a silver medal at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Poland and gold medal in Estonia. The rescheduled 2011 ISU World Figure Skating Championships were held in Moscow April 24 - May 1, 2011. Our special Congratulations to our Olympic Ice Dance Champions, Tessa & Scott, our Senior Pair Champions, Kirsten and Dylan, and Canadian Silver Medalists in Ice Dance, Kaitlin and Andrew!
The following WO skaters represented Canada at the 2011 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei, February 15-20, 2011. Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje both of Waterloo, placed 4th in Ice Dancing and Kirsten Moore-Towers of St. Catharines, and Dylan Moscovitch of Toronto placed 5th in the pair event. |
