Verifying Age Eligibility of Competitors

Out of consideration for privacy issues, the WO Championships Committee has decided that it is no longer appropriate to ask that copies of birth certificates be sent in with competition entry forms. There are at least three signatures on the form attesting to the skater’s age and we ask that those signing entry forms to verifythe competitor's age if applicable. Tech Reps should enforce the following Section policy:

Any skater entered in an age-restricted category for which they are not age-qualified shall be disqualified and not allowed to change categories. Entry fees shall not be refunded.

This is a Section policy, so it is not the Tech Rep who is the “bad guy.” Any complaints should be addressed to the Championships Committee Chair. Obviously corrections made before the day of the competition should be allowed.
